LINCOLNTON, N.C. - This year, due to Covid restrictions, the Annual Lincolnton Christmas Parade was cancelled. A grass roots group of Lincoln County Citizens decided that the kids, both young and old, of Lincolnton and Lincoln County have missed out on so much this year and they did not want them to miss out on seeing Santa.
So what started as a desire for kids to have the opportunity to see Santa ended up becoming “Saving the Spirit of Christmas: Christmas Crawl & Cruise In”.
On Sunday, November 29 from 1-5 p.m. in downtown Lincolnton you are invited to join in the festivities as Lincolnton welcomes the Christmas Season. With lots of excitement planned for all ages: Shopping, Music, Food Trucks, Santa Claus, Cruise-In and More!
You are invited to stroll around downtown Lincolnton visiting merchants, musicians will rotate between different locations, various food trucks will be available, and don’t forget the Christmas Themed Cruise-In, we invite motorcycles, golf carts, vintage cars and trucks to Cruise-In to Lincolnton and congregate in the parking lot behind Carter Bank & Trust at 341 East Main Street allowing people to check out the participants.
We cannot forget the big guy. Make plans to visit Santa, where personal distancing will be maintained, who will be located beside Burton Farms General Store at 317 East Main Street. Santa will have a special elf with him. Lincoln County’s 2020 Apple Queen, Ava Parnell, will be assisting Santa by helping kids deposit letters to Santa into a mailbox to the North Pole.
Kids, please bring your letters to Santa as whispering in his ear is a no-no this year and you can take a selfie with Santa, from a safe distance.
Last but not least this event is also a Toys for Tots Drive with two drop-off locations available: Lincoln County Masonic Lodge #137, 100 West Sycamore Street and Burton Farms General Store, 317 East Main Street-Back Lot.
Remember to visit downtown Lincolnton on Sunday, November 29 from 1-5 p.m. and join us in “Saving the Spirit of Christmas: Lincolnton Christmas Crawl & Cruise-In.”
