The Catawba Riversweep for 2021 was held Saturday (Oct. 2nd).   Volunteers removed tons of trash from the river from Lake James to Lake Wateree.

Keep Lincoln County Beautful worked on cleaning up the islands on Lake Norman, pulling trash from the lake, and on cleaning up Beatty's Ford Park. Patty Korn, who headed up the project for KLCB said it was a great success: "
It was a successful event because everyone returned safely, and volunteers removed a trailer load of trash from the lake.
"We had the most boats (9) and volunteers (45) ever, but I could have launched two more boats with more volunteers.
"The pictures are of the Keep Lincoln County Beautiful (KLCB) Litter Committee's tent after setup before all the volunteers arrived (the calm before the storm), some volunteers, and some of our cleanup results.  For the first time ever, the Denver Fire Department fire boat and the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office Lake Patrol boat participated in our event!"
