There won't be a Tree Lighting ceremony in Lincolnton this year; instead, the tree n the east side of the courthouse will have its lights turned on as Santa passes during the Christmas parade the Sunday after Thanksgiving (Nov. 28th).
That same evening, the East Lincoln Betterment Association will hold its tree lighting at 5:30 PM in front of Lake Norman Lutheran Church at the corner of NC16-business and Natalie Commons Drive.
Also at 5:30 on Nov. 28th, the town of Stanley will have its tree lighting on Main Street near the railroad tracks. Stanley's Christmas parade will be on Wednesday Dec. 15th at 3 PM.
The committee hasn't yet met, but plans now--unless something changes--are for the Cat Square Christmas Parade to be held on Saturday December 11th at 1 PM. That same day, Cherryville will have its Christmas parade at 10:30 Saturday morning.
One reason more people turn to the Lincoln Herald for local news, sports, obituaries, and information about community events is that the Lincoln Herald is FREE to read. For over nine years now, we've been keeping Lincoln, Catawba, Gaston & Cleveland counties informed, and nobody has ever had to pay for a subscription.
Anyone can read our articles; we post links to them on Facebook and Twitter; and those who have signed up for our email service--also FREE--receive a daily email with links to all the articles we've posted since the previous day.
