In memory of Toliy Givens, former Lincoln Charter Cross Country Athlete. Toliy was adopted by the Givens family from Ukraine as a boy through New Horizons for Children.
All proceeds benefit New Horizons for Children, an organization that supports orphaned children in Ukraine and throughout Eastern Europe. In the midst of the current crisis in the Ukraine, New Horizons is supporting orphan evacuation costs from the Ukraine to neighboring countries.
The race will be held on the Lincoln Charter Cross Country Course which has varied terrain, 1.4 miles of pavement around the soccer fields, some moderate hills and through wooded trails. The trail portion of the course is not baby stroller friendly.
Hi there--I'm Torrie Zink, and my husband Jeff and I are working with Lincoln Charter School to promote the 4th Annual Toliy Givens 5K. Toliy and his brother were adopted from Ukraine by the Givens family in Denver, and Toliy lost his life while serving in the US military five years ago. He was a Cross Co untry runner at LCS and a friend to all, including our kids, Drew and Lia at Lincoln Charter.
Toliy just made you smile--even on your worst day! 100% of the proceeds go to the charity they were adopted through--New Horizons for Children. This organization makes Ukraine adoptions and support possible--more important now than ever, as you know.
