LINCOLNTON, N.C.––Two local historians will present programs on slavery, Nov. 24, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

The presentations are hosted by the Lincoln County Historical Association. They will be held at Battleground Park, the historic site of the Battle of Ramsour’s Mill, located at 301 Jeb Seagle Drive in Lincolnton. Tickets are $10 each and available in advance or at the door. On-line sales end Nov. 6 at 6 p.m. Parking for the event is free.

Nicole Moore will deliver a third-person presentation on the lives of slaves. Moore will prepare a meal over an open fire and talk about the various difficult labors slaves had to perform more than a century and a half ago. She will discuss the role of enslaved cooks and more. Her third-person style will allow her to talk to the members of her audience and to take their questions.

And Dontavius Williams will present his one-man show, “The Chronicles of Adam,” which details the life of an enslaved black man. Williams’s first-person presentation is all about a man named Adam, who worked as an enslaved blacksmith in antebellum South Carolina. Williams is a veteran of more than 10 years in living-history programs.
