Community groups providing Internet-based learning during virus-related restrictions can benefit from funding help.
According to North Carolina Alliance YMCA spokeswoman Michele McKinley, such organizations are invited to apply for up to $100,000 in COVID-19 relief funds per Website. The application period opens Sept. 28, and applications are due by Oct. 5. Complete details, including for registration, are available on the Website: www.ncymcaalliance.org.
State-approved funding of some $19.85 million is available, as McKinley informed. The N.C. Alliance of YMCA’s is administering this grant funding, according to its chief executive officer, Sheree Vodicka.
“We’re so grateful to be serving families,” said Vodicka, “alongside many other community organizations that also prioritize the safety and health of children. We are honored to serve community organizations by administering these funds in accordance with federal guidelines.”
Eligible organizations may apply for reimbursement of direct personnel and other expenses associated with planning for and/or providing Internet-based learning support. Groups will need to demonstrate a capacity to provide full reporting (employee payroll records, timekeeping, receipts, etc).
