The End of the Revolution
Wars eventually end.  The US involvement in Afghanistan was America's longest.  The Vietnam War lasted a decade; World War II (for the US) began in December 1941 and ended in 1945.  The American Revolution began in 1775--the year before the Declaration of Independence.  It came to an end with the Paris treaty in 1783.

Liberty Point Resolves
We just celebrated America's birthday based on the Declaration of Independence in 1776.  That, of course, wasn't the first such declaration.  North Carolina's state flag bears two dates of other supposed declarations.  Yet another similar resolution (but not a declaration of independence) was the Liberty Point Resolves of 1775.
