Nancy Smyre Parker
August 12, 1933 - March 31, 2019

MAIDEN, N.C. - Nancy Smyre Parker, 85, of Maiden, passed away on Sunday, March 31, 2019 at her residence.

She was born August 12, 1933 in Catawba County to the late George Herman (Chick) Smyre and Bertha Mauney Smyre. Nancy was a member Westside Baptist Church in Maiden.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jeff Parker; son, Gralyn Dennis Parker; brother, Charles Herman Smyre.

Those left to cherish her memory are son Terry Parker and wife Debbie of Maiden; brother Robert “Bob” Smyre of Maiden; grandchildren Brian Parker, Jason Parker, Amy Gozalkowski, Katherine Parker, Michael Edmondson, and Rhonda Herman; great-grandchildren Joshua Parker, Jonathan Gozalkowski, Bryant Gozalkowski, Christan Parker, Ty Parker, Ryan Parker, Evan Parker, Evan Parker, Morgan Gozalkowski, Zoey Gozalkowski, Abby Edmondson, Dylan Edmondson, Jacob Quinn and Mark Goodwin; and dear friends Ginger Lee and Debra Sigmon.

A service to celebrate Nancy’s life will be held on Thursday, April 4, 2019 at 3 p.m. at Westside Baptist Church in Maiden. Rev. Bud Painter will officiate. Burial will follow at Maiden City Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 4, 2019 from 2 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. at Westside Baptist Church.
