Martha (Mott) Watts Hawn
January 23, 1938 - April 1, 2019

MAIDEN, N.C. - Martha “Mott” Watts Hawn, 81, of Maiden passed away on Monday, April 1, 2019 at Catawba Valley Medical Center.

She was born January 23, 1938 in Catawba County to the late Jack J. Watts and Floy Benfield Watts.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband of 42 years, Phillip Wayne Hawn.

Those left to cherish her memory are son Tim Hawn and wife Eileen of Taylors, S.C.; daughters Terri Brewington and husband Clint of Newton, Kim Hartgrove and husband Steve of Newton; grandchildren Candance Foster, Amy Castongia, Mindy Lawing, Kelli Hartgrove, Lucas Hawn and Jonathan Hawn; great-grandchildren Taylor Lusk, Brian Lusk, Harper Lawing, Haven Lawing and Kai Lawing.

A service to celebrate Mott’s life will be held on Thursday, April 4, 2019 at 1 p.m. at Cedar Grove Baptist Church in Newton. Rev. Ethan Drum will officiate. Burial will follow at Maiden City Cemetery. The family will receive friends on April 4, 2019 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at Cedar Grove Baptist Church.

Memorials may be made to Cedar Grove Baptist Church, 6105 Startown Rd., Newton, NC 28658.
