Larry (Red) Wayne Hedrick Jr.
March 8, 1966 - April 1, 2019

NEWTON, N.C. - Larry “Red” Wayne Hedrick Jr., 53, of Newton passed away on Monday, April 1, 2019 at Catawba Valley Medical Center in Hickory.

He was born March 8, 1966 in Catawba County to Larry Wayne Hedrick Sr. and Mary Arney Hedrick of Newton. He was lovingly known by his family as Wayne and by all else who knew him as Big Red. Wayne never met a stranger and had a personality that was all his own, if you met him once you never forgot him. He was fun loving, adventurous, and his favorite pastime was spending time with his family at Brown Mountain. Wayne was deeply love and will be dearly missed.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of seven years Tamara Burrus Hedrick of Lenoir; son Eric Wayne Hedrick of Newton; daughter Kayla Marie Hedrick of Claremont; stepson Jacob Carr of Claremont; stepdaughter Ashley Carr of Claremont; brother Chris Hedrick of Claremont; sister Felecia Salvati and husband John of Claremont; grandchildren Kaselyn Ratchford, Ryley Greer, Landon Dimond, Parker Wray, Jayce Wray and Ava Carr.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2019 at the home of John and Felecia Salvati, 4312 Hawk Drive, Claremont, NC 28610 at 5 p.m.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
