Steven (Steve) Robert Williams
April 25, 1955 - May 16, 2019

CLAREMONT, N.C. - Steven “Steve” Robert Williams, 64, of Claremont passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, May 16, 2019.

He was born April 25, 1955 in Loring, Maine to the late James Edward Williams and Kathryn Ellen Lewin Williams Marshall. Steven was a member of Marketplace Church in Hickory. Since retiring from Centro, Inc. in December of 2018, Steve volunteered at Rising Hope Farms in Claremont.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Edward Dyer and mother-in-law, Shelby Dyer.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 43 years Wendy Dyer Williams of the home; son Levi Williams of Newton; daughters Amanda (Sam) Williams of Madison, Maine, Katherine (Katie) Williams of Newton, N.C.; brothers Roger Williams and wife Claudia of Fairhope, Ala., Keith Williams and wife Deb of Plant City, Fla., Henry Marshall and wife Jill of Maryland; sisters Marilyn Brown and husband Michael of Dade City, Fla., Sherry Southerland and husband Claude of Presque Isle, Maine, Vicki Williams- Gorney and husband Paul of Land O’ Lakes, Fla., Shelly Wright of Fairhope, Ala., Doreen Frederic of Necaise, Miss.; stepfather Henry Marshall of Newton, N.C.; sister-in-law Colleen Nickerson of Claremont, N.C.; grandchildren Tracy Morrison, Abbi Morrison, Michelle Williams and Marcel Williams.

A memorial service to celebrate Steve’s life will be held on Monday, May 20, 2019 at 12 Noon at Marketplace Church, 2936 NC Hwy 127 S, Hickory, NC. Pastor Mark Myers will officiate. The family will receive friends on Monday, May 20, 2019 from 10 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. at Marketplace Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Rising Hope Farms, 3775 Bethany Church Road, Claremont, NC 28610

Bennett Funeral Service of Conover, N.C. is serving the Williams family.
