Mary Elizabeth Longacre Eller
June 16, 1951 - December 15, 2019

NEWTON - Mary Elizabeth Longacre Eller, 68, of Newton passed away on Sunday, December 15, 2019 at Atrium Health in Charlotte.

She was born June 16, 1951 in Catawba County to the late Carl C. Longacre Sr. and Ocie Abernathy Longacre. Mary was a member of Mt. Ruhama Baptist Church in Maiden and retired from the hosiery industry.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Robert Eller III.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son Hai Nguyen of Savannah, Ga.; brother Carl C. Longacre and wife Paula of Maiden; sisters Peggy Lail and husband Larry Boston of Lincolnton, L. Christine Palmer of Hickory; grandchild Felix Nguyen; nephews Tim Lail and Shannon Lail (Peggy); nieces Crystal Longacre Stallings and her daughters Amber and Savannah (Carl and Paula), Trina Longacre and her children Christopher and Ashley Killian.

A memorial service to celebrate Mary’s life will be held on Thursday, December 19, 2019 at 3 p.m. at Mt. Ruhama Baptist Church in Maiden. Rev. Michael Staton will officiate. Inurnment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 19, 2019 from 2 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. at Mt. Ruhama Baptist Church.

Memorials may be made to Mt. Ruhama Baptist Church Building Fund, 3273 Mt. Ruhama Church Rd., Maiden, NC 28650.
