HICKORY, N.C. - Mack Eldridge Berry, Sr., 69, of Hickory passed away on Sunday, February 13, 2022 at UNC Health Blue Ridge in Morganton.

He was born April 4, 1952 in Church Hill, Tenn. to the late Mack Reecer Berry and Madge Lawson Berry. Mack enjoyed hunting, fishing and hanging with his grandchildren as often as he could and as long as his health allowed, he enjoyed going to flea markets, hunting, and fishing. Mack was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Johnny Berry; sisters, Carolyn Hilton, Kay Watson, Vickie Yount and Janet Berry.

Those left to cherish his memory is his wife of 48 years Shirley Ketron Berry of the home; sons Mack Berry Jr. of Catawba, Clinton Berry of Hickory; daughters Elizabeth Blizzard of Church Hill, Tenn., Bridget Campbell and husband Matt of Lenoir; sisters Sharon Maupin of Church Hill, Tenn., Shelley Glazebrook and husband Rick of Sawmills, Alesa Norton of Mountain View; 12 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service to celebrate Mack’s life will be held on Friday, February 18, 2022 at 6 p.m. in the Chapel of Bennett Funeral Service, 7878 NC Hwy 16, Newton. Rev. Tommy Young will officiate. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 5 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. at Bennett Funeral Service.
