Sandra Craig Travis, 79, of Conover passed away on Friday, February 25, 2022 at her residence.

She was born December 25, 1942 in Catawba County to the late Archie Henry Craig and Nettie Ruth Bollinger Craig. Sandra was a former member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Newton and retired as a social worker with Catawba County Social Services. She was part of an Army military family that traveled and lived around the world. Her most memorable places were Japan, Germany, and West Point. Sandra loved gardening and traveling. Going to different casinos were a passion of hers. She enjoyed arts and crafts, especially coloring. Sandra cherished time with her family and watching her grandchildren play sports. She was a huge Elvis fan, enjoyed collecting Elvis memorabilia and listening to his music daily.

Brother: Reggie Craig and wife Sherry of Hickory

 Sisters: Patty Warren and husband Brian of Conover; Dottie Everett and husband David of Greensboro, NC

Grandchildren: Kara Davis and husband Kyle, Kailey Travis, Brittany Travis, Bethany Travis, Tucker Travis and Timber Travis

Great-Grandchildren: Knox Davis, and Sawyer Shoemaker

A memorial service to celebrate Sandra’s life will be held on Monday, February 28, 2022 at 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bennett Funeral Service, 7878 NC Hwy 16, Newton. Rev. Scott Bollinger will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service.
