Wayne Douglas Cline, 74, of Claremont passed away on Friday, February 25, 2022 at Carolina Caring in Newton.

He was born June 1, 1947 in Catawba County to the late Milton and Emmie Hamilton Cline. Wayne was a United States Air Force veteran. He was an avid painter and loved spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Jo Ann Cline; great-grandson, Arthur Reese; sister, Nancy Goble.

Brothers: Gary Cline and wife Evelyn of Claremont; Tim Cline and wife Myra of Newton

Grandchildren: Buddy Reese, Rochelle Reese, Chris Reese, Cora Kirkpatrick and Shawn Kirkpatrick

Great-Grandchildren: Braedyn Reese, Zay Reese, Mason Kirkpatrick, Gavin Kirkpatrick and Serenity Reese

A service to celebrate Wayne’s life will be held on Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bennett Funeral Service, 7878 NC Hwy 16, Newton. Rev. Tommy Young will officiate. Burial with military honors will follow at Eastview Cemetery in Newton. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. at Bennett Funeral Service.
