CHERRYVILLE, N.C. - Scott Allen Sigmon, age 55, of Cherryville, passed away Monday, March 7, 2022 at Atrium Health – Cleveland.
He was born September 28, 1966 in Norwich, Connecticut to the late Don Hugh Sigmon Sr. and Laverne Elizabeth Sigmon. He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Scotty was a hard worker. He loved mowing grass and going to Vickie’s Grill for breakfast. He was also an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. Scotty married the love of his life Kathy B. Sigmon on August 16, 1995.
In addition to his loving wife, Kathy, he is survived by his brothers, Don Hugh Sigmon Jr. and wife, Robin, Rev. Ricky Ray Sigmon and wife, Teena; sisters, Renée Sigmon, Sandra Williams and husband, Randy, and Liz Moore and friend, Bobby; father-in-law, R. L. Bryson Jr.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Curtis Sigmon, Pete Carter, and Eddie Carter; and sisters, Elizabeth Sigmon, Rita Smith, and Donna K. Johnson.
The family will receive friends Thursday, March 10, 2022 from 6-8 p.m. in the sanctuary at Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 11, 2022 at 2 p.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Pastor Keith Huss and Pastor Ricky Sigmon officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
