CLAREMONT, N.C. - Peggy McGuinn Bolick, 83, of Claremont passed away on Monday, March 7, 2022 at her residence.
She was born January 25, 1939 in Catawba County to the late James Hubert McGuinn and Nell Brown McGuinn. Peggy was a lifetime member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Claremont, and retired from Bassett Furniture after many years of service. She enjoyed gardening and taking care of her flower beds.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, George R. Bolick; son, Kevin A. Bolick; sister, Shirley Hoover; and son-in-law, Raymond Motter Jr.
Those left to cherish her memory are son Russell Bolick of Claremont; daughter Sherrie Bolick Motter of Claremont; sisters Betty Wilkinson of Hickory, Nellie Jo “Bill” Childers of Catawba, Carolyn M. Waugh and husband Marvin (Mutt) of Catawba, Pat M. Browning of Raleigh; grandchildren Bronson Midkiff of Elizabeth City, Chad Midkiff and wife Christina of Catawba; great-grandchild Taylor Prince of Granite Falls; three step-grandchildren of Georgia; and nine step-great-grandchildren of Georgia.
A graveside service to celebrate Peggy’s life will be held on Sunday, March 13, 2022 at 4 p.m. at Bethel Lutheran Church in Claremont. Rev. Eric Hollar will officiate. Her body will lie in state on Saturday, March 12, 2022 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Bennett Funeral Service in Conover. Those serving as pallbearers are Chad Midkiff, Chris Lehmans, Randy Childers, Jimmy Waugh, Junior Waugh, and Leon Hoover. Mike Benfield and Marvin (Mutt) Waugh will serve as honorary pallbearers.
