Ollie McCreary Lineberger
March 19, 1933 - March 8, 2022

SHERRILLS FORD, N.C. - Ollie McCreary Lineberger, 88, of Sherrills Ford, passed away on Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at her residence.

She was born March 19, 1933 in Caldwell County to the late Cindy Whisnant McCreary. Ollie was a member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church in Sherrills Ford and retired after 32 years from Sherrills Ford Elementary School as a cafeteria worker and bus driver. Ollie always sent birthday, anniversary, get-well, and sympathy cards to every member of the church and community. She loved her family and enjoyed drinking coffee.

In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Vershal Lineberger; her beautiful daughter-in-law, Teresa Hildebrand Lineberger; brothers, Luther McCreary, Jack McCreary, Mack McCreary, and Perry Donald McCreary; sisters, Rose Hodge and Betty Clark.

Those left to cherish her memory are sons Tony Lineberger of Sherrills Ford, Eric Lineberger of Sherrills Ford; daughters Cindy Lineberger Heavner and husband Rusty of Newton, Tracy Lineberger Blanton and husband William of Sherrills Ford, Taffy DeCuzzi of Sherrills Ford; grandchildren Mary McCall (Jeremy), Leslie Anderson-Hastings (Tristan), Preston Blanton, Ashley Blanton Ervin, Toni Lineberger, Tony Wilson (Erin), Alex Wilson (Keeley), Dustin Lineberger, Logan Lineberger, Annsli Lineberger, Zadie Lineberger, Ericka Boston, and Christie Lineberger; great-grandchildren Cortney McCall West (Dubby), Moses Anderson, Rachel Anderson, Taylor Hastings, Jeremy Ervin, Megan Ervin, Nariah Boston, Willow Boston, Camdyn Lineberger, Nora Wilson, Noah Wilson and Bexley Wilson.

A service to celebrate Ollie’s life will be held on Friday, March 11, 2022 at 2 p.m. at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church. Rev. Jonathan Brake, Rev. Joe Westfall, Mr. Jeremy McCall and Mr. Tony Wilson will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church. Those serving as pallbearers are Jeremy McCall, Nickie Lineberger, Tristan Hastings, Edsel Lineberger, Jeff Lineberger, and Carroll Lineberger Jr.
