CLAREMONT, N.C. - Mrs. Jewell Yount Wesson, 88, of Claremont passed away Wednesday, March 9, 2022 at Trinity Ridge.
She was born July 18, 1933 in Hickory, the daughter of the late Oren Crouse Yount and Neva Reitzel Yount.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, H. Dean Wesson; grandson, Jeffrey D. Wesson; sister, Doris Punch Fox; and brother, James D. Yount.
Jewell worked 12 years for Swift & Co in Kansas City, Kansas as a bookkeeper and 31 years in accounting for Conover Glove, Inc. She was a member of Mt. View United Methodist Church where she was an active choir member for over 25 years and a Sunday school teacher.
She is survived by two sons Eddie Dean Wesson and husband Jeff Fu of Taylorsville and Douglas Scott Wesson and wife Jackie Price Wesson of Conover; five grandchildren Shane Wesson, Jason Wesson and wife Charlie, Angela Veitch and husband Jon, Ashley Wesson and Savannah Caldwell and husband John; 11 great-grandchildren Ashlynn McCray, Tyler, Abigail, Elizabeth, Zachary, Trinity, Elijah and Olivia Wesson, Isabella and Mac Veitch and Carleigh Caldwell; and one great-great-grandchild Rowan Green.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, March 13, 2022 at 3 p.m. at Mt. View United Methodist Church with Rev. David Hawkins officiating. Burial will follow In the church cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. at the church.
