NEWTON, N.C. - Samuel Lee Wilson, 87, of Newton, passed away on March 5, 2022 at his residence.
He was born October 31, 1934 in Berkeley County, S.C. to the late John Wilson and Mary Tucker Wilson. Samuel retired from the furniture industry and enjoyed fishing, gardening, and spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Essie May Wilson; brothers, John Henry Wilson and Isaac Wilson; and sisters, Rebecca Wilson Grant, Alice Wilson Felder, and Martha Wilson Frazier.
Those left to cherish his memory is his son Jarvis Doyley of South Carolina; daughters Tanjal Wilson of Newton, Sandra Wilson of Hickory, Teresa Holmes and husband Bobby of Statesville; sisters Lillie Bell Wilson Green of South Carolina, Learline Wilson Martin of South Carolina, Mary Wilson Grant of Virginia; grandchildren LaTravis Newbitt, Natasha Wilson, Rashone Wilson, Tiffany Thompson, Legwann Wilson, Lee Wilson, Wakeith Fleming, Ryan Wilson, Raven Wilson, and Brittany Wilson.
A homegoing service to celebrate Samuel’s life will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Bennett Funeral Service, 7878 NC Hwy 16, Newton. Pastor Dale Taylor will officiate.
