LINCOLNTON, N.C. - Billy Wonda Hamilton, age 85, of 2671 Surrey Drive in Lincolnton, died on Saturday, March 12, 2022.

His funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 16 at Boger City Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Bigham officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:15 p.m. on Wednesday at the church.

Mr. Hamilton was born May 14, 1936 in Graham County to the late Harvey Hamilton and Juanita Hamilton. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Joanne Hamilton. Bill served one tour in the United States Air Force as an installer cableman before being discharged. Bill worked at North State Knitting Company, Abernathy Chevrolet, and Carolina Roller Company prior to his retirement. Bill loved horticulture and bird watching. In his later years, he cherished spending time with his family.

He was a member of Boger City Baptist Church in Lincolnton. In his later years, he was unable to attend, but enjoyed watching Dr. Charles Stanley on television.

He lived his life for his family, especially his granddaughters. He loved their visits and enjoyed hearing about their life experiences.

He is survived by his sons, Brian Hamilton of Lincolnton and Brad Hamilton and wife Jeanine of Concord; as well as granddaughters McKenzie Hamilton of Raleigh and Alexandria Hamilton of Chapel Hill.
