CHERRYVILLE, N.C. - Mrs. Teddy Smith Grigg, 69, passed away on Thursday, March 17, 2022 at Atrium Health - Cleveland.

Teddy was born on August 16, 1952 in Cleveland County, daughter of Helen Parker Smith of Cherryville and the late John R. Smith Sr. She was a 1970 graduate of Cherryville High School and also attended Shelby Business College. Teddy was a homemaker. She was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church in Cherryville. Teddy was an avid reader and also enjoyed talking on the phone to her friends. Her grandchildren were the apple of her eye and she loved spending time with them.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her son, Dwayne Grigg.

Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Kenneth Grigg of the home; a daughter, Karrie Grigg Cash and husband David of Lincolnton; two grandchildren, Adley and Levi Cash; a brother John Smith and wife Cindy of Cherryville.

Visitation will be from 1:30 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. on Sunday, March 20, 2022 at Shady Grove Baptist Church in Cherryville.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 20, 2022 at Shady Grove Baptist Church with Pastor Dale Hendricks and Dr. Eddie Grigg officiating.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
