VALE, N.C. - Brenda Holbrooks Hudson, 78, of Vale passed away on Thursday, April 7, 2022 at Atrium Health in Lincolnton.

She was born May 31, 1943 in Lincoln County to the late Lester Vance Holbrooks and Lona Mae Scronce Holbrooks. Brenda was a member of Reepsville Baptist Church in Vale and retired from Lincoln County Schools where she worked as a bus driver for 31 years. She enjoyed quilting, watching westerns, gardening and playing video games.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Sammy Lee Hudson; and brother, Harvey Holbrooks.

Those left to cherish her memory is her sons Marty Lee Hudson and wife Janice of Lincolnton, Gregory Scott Hudson and wife Rhonda of Vale, Derek Vance Hudson and wife Clarissa Dill of Vale; daughter Lisa Kay Hudson of Vale; grandchildren Christopher Lee Hudson, Christina Hudson Helms (Harley), Brook Elizabeth Hudson, Brandie Nicole Land (Cody), Christephen Terry Scott Hudson, Shana Danielle Hudson, Erika Blake Hudson; and great-grandchildren Abigail Renea Hudson, Carson Lawrence Hudson and Mia Renea Hudson.

A service to celebrate Brenda’s life will be held on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at 3 p.m. at Reepsville Baptist Church in Vale. Rev. Jeff Hull, Rev. Jaie Warlick, and Rev. Matthew Seagle Sr. will officiate. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:45 to 2:45 p.m. at Reepsville Baptist Church.
