CHERRYVILLE, N.C. - Mrs. Lois Fisher Owen, 73, passed away on Saturday, April 9, 2022 at Atrium Health - Cleveland in Shelby.
Lois was born on March 7, 1949 in Brevard, a daughter of the late Paul Fisher and Virgie Thomas Fisher. She retired from the North Carolina Cooperative Extension Services working in both Gaston and Cleveland Counties. Lois was a member of First Baptist Church in Cherryville and also the Adrienne Osborne Sunday school class.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Sonny Fisher.
Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Leon Wayne Owen of the home; a son, Nathan Owen of Cherryville; a daughter, Amy Gibby (Jason) of Lincolnton; four grandchildren, Reese Gibby, Jada Gibby, Sara Owen and Miley Owen; two sisters, Doris Waldrop of Lake Toxaway and Paulette Megee of Landrum, S.C. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who were like her family.
Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at First Baptist Church in Cherryville and at other times the family will be at the home.
A celebration of life service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at First Baptist Church with Dr. Vince Hefner and Rev. Randy Heffner officiating.
Burial will be private.
Lois's request, in lieu of flowers, was that memorials be made to the Autism Society of NC, 8307 University Executive Park Dr. #231, Charlotte, NC 28262 or to Haven of Rest Ministries, PO Box 466, Anderson, SC, 29622.
