SHERRILLS FORD, N.C. - Norman D. Henson, 79, of Sherrills Ford, passed away on Thursday, April 28, 2022 at his residence.

He was born November 18, 1942 in Rutherford County to the late Gardner and Georgia Stacy Henson. Norman was a member of Olivet Baptist Church in Catawba. He retired from Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools where he worked as an HVAC Technician. Norman loved his horses and the Carolina Panthers. He was Bill W.’s friend for 47 years.

The family would like to thank Hospice & Palliative Care Charlotte Region for their wonderful care.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers in Florida; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Howard and Doneen Doyle.

Those left to cherish his memory is his wife of 33 years Kathy Doyle Henson of the home; daughters Sarah Henson of Conover, Julia Henson of Indian Land, S.C.; brothers Tim Henson of North Carolina, Ronnie Henson of Florida, Richard Henson of Florida, Mike Henson of Florida; brother-in-law Howie Doyle and wife Anne of South Carolina; sister-in-law Mary Paolucci and husband Joe of Connecticut; and grandchild Camden McIntrye.

A graveside service to celebrate Norman’s life will be held on Monday, May 2, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Olivet Baptist Church in Catawba. Rev. Matt Rummage will officiate. The family will receive friends following the graveside service.
