HIGH SHOALS, N.C. - Louie Wade Taylor, age 82, of North Lincoln Street in High Shoals, died on Friday, April 29, 2022.
His funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, May 2, 2022, at First Baptist Church of High Shoals with Pastor Mike Scott and Pastor Kevin Smith officiating. Burial will follow in High Shoals Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. at the church.
Mr. Taylor was born November 8, 1939, in Avery County, to the late John Taylor and Novella Thompson Taylor. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Cheryl Taylor Smith. Louie was a long-time member of First Baptist Church – High Shoals where he was a member of the choir. He worked as a supervisor in textiles.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Judy Lineberger Taylor of the home; daughter, Annie Eubanks (Chris) of Spartanburg, S.C.; two grandsons, Curtis Smith (Melissa) of Odessa, Fla. and Kevin Smith (Shannon) of Roebuck, S.C.; one great-grandchild, Callie Smith; son-in-law, Mike Smith of Roebuck, S.C.; brother, Kyle Taylor; sister, Dora Mullenax (Boyd); special niece, Gail Dougan; and other numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to the Metrolina Association for the Blind, 704 Louise Avenue, Charlotte, NC 28204.
