Frank Ashton Rockett
June 23, 1973 - May 15, 2022

NEWTON, N.C. - Frank Ashton Rockett, 48, of Newton passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 15, 2022 at Valley Nursing Center in Taylorsville. Ashton bravely fought ALS for over a year.

He was born June 23, 1973 in Catawba County to Larry Clinton Rockett and Sherry Parker Atwell. Ashton was employed with Home Depot and Lowes for many years, and most recently worked with WM Bagster as a display personnel. He loved his work and took pride in that. Ashton enjoyed reading, Star Trek, Harry Potter, and had studied all the details about the Titanic. His laugh was unforgettable and his love of vibrant colors and Christmas was well known. Ashton adored his mother and it was common to see him with his arm draped around her shoulders. Kindness filled Ashton’s soul, whether it was for his family or the many animals he loved. He was one of a kind, and those that loved him will forever ache in their hearts. Heaven is brighter. We are sadder, but we know he is now free from pain and that we will someday see him again.

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, James Parker and Pat Jolley; parental grandparents, Clinton and Ruby Rockett; and aunts, Bobbie Wood and Frances Rockett.

Those left to cherish his memory are his father Larry Clinton Rockett and wife Marta of Hickory; mother and stepfather Sherry and Hugh Atwell of Newton; brother Scott Rockett of Maiden; a host of nieces and nephews; and special Friend of 34 years, Rachel Joyce, whom Ashton loved and referred to as his soulmate.

A memorial service to celebrate Ashton’s life will be held on Saturday, May 28, 2022 at 3 p.m. at the home of his mother, 1692 Radio Station Rd., Newton. In honor of Ashton, if you are attending his memorial service, the family asks that you wear either a Hawaiian shirt or a bright colored shirt.

Memorials may be made to the ALS Association North Carolina Chapter, 4 N. Blount St. Suite 200, Raleigh, NC 27601, or to The Trevor Project, PO Box 69232, West Hollywood, CA 90069

Condolences may be sent to the Rockett family at www.bennettfuneralservice.com
