David Talmadge Atkins
July 2, 1940 - May 25, 2022

VALE, N.C. - David Talmadge Atkins, age 81, of Sain Milling Road in Vale, died on Wednesday, May 25, 2022.

A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 2, 2022, in the Palm Tree United Methodist Church cemetery with Rev. Cynthia Nanney officiating.

Mr. Atkins was born July 2, 1940, in Cleveland County, to the late Archie Sherrill Atkins and Ruth Frazer Atkins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Atkins. He served in the United States Army and would later work as a manager for Hardee’s.

He is survived by his wife, Kay Frances Gilbert Atkins of the home; two sons, Tim Atkins and Dwayne Atkins; daughter, Julie Ledbetter; brother, Steve Atkins; sister, Kathy Lemburger; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Lincoln County, 900 Dontia Drive, Lincolnton, NC 28092.

Warlick Funeral Home of Lincolnton, N.C. is serving the Atkins family.
