Robert Thurman Biggerstaff
March 26, 1941 - June 18, 2022

RALEIGH, N.C. - Robert Thurman Biggerstaff, 81, of Raleigh, passed away on Saturday, June 18, 2022.

He was born March 26, 1941 in Catawba County to the late Malcolm Thurman Biggerstaff and Mary Helen Mullen Biggerstaff. He graduated from NC State University with a B.S. of Electrical Engineering and retired from Duke Energy in 1996.

In addition to his parents, his son, Gary Cook, preceded him in death.

Those left to cherish his memory is his wife of 53 years Sherry Biggerstaff of the home; daughter Jill Cakmakci and husband Chuck of St. Petersburg, Fla.; son Chris Biggerstaff and wife Lori of Carrboro; granddaughters Tatum Cakmakci, Jordan Biggerstaff, and Sidra Biggerstaff; brothers Allen (Sherry) Biggerstaff, Gene (Donna) Biggerstaff, and Joe (Phyllis) Biggerstaff.

A graveside service to celebrate Robert’s life will be held on Friday, June 24, 2022 at 12 p.m. at Grace Lutheran Church, 4536 Hickory Lincolnton Hwy, Newton, NC 28658. Rev. Adrienne Martin will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Liberty HomeCare & Hospice Services, 3134 Wendell Blvd., Wendell, NC 27591
