Saine Appointed House Appropriations Senior Chairman

RALEIGH, N.C. – Wednesday, January 9, Speaker Tim Moore (R-Cleveland) appointed Rep. Jason Saine (R-Lincoln) to serve as Senior Chairman of the House Committee on Appropriations. As a Senior Chairman of the House Appropriations Committee, Rep. Saine will be tasked with overseeing the creation of North Carolina’s $23.9 billion budget.

“I have great confidence in these committee leaders to continue our state’s success by making smart decisions for North Carolina that keep the people on a path to lasting prosperity,” stated Speaker Moore on Wednesday.

“I am excited about some of the new challenges facing us and honored that Speaker Moore has asked me to serve in this new capacity.” Rep. Saine remarked.

Speaker Moore announced the following members were appointed chairs of the House Committee on Appropriations: Rep. Dean Arp (R-Union), Rep. Bill Brisson (R-Bladen), Rep. Josh Dobson (R-McDowell), Rep. John Faircloth (R-Guilford), Rep. Linda Johnson (R-Cabarrus), Rep. Donny Lambeth (R-Forsyth), Rep. Chuck McGrady (R-Henderson), and Rep. Jason Saine (R-Lincoln).

Reps. Johnson, Lambeth, and Saine, were designated senior chairs of the House Committee on Appropriations.
