Recently, the deaths of five cows in Surry County were linked to acute anemia caused by tick infestations. Samples were sent to the N.C. Division of Public Health, Communicable Disease Branch for identification which confirmed Asian longhorned ticks.

Charlotte Woman Arrested For Preparing False Tax Returns & Setting Fire To Tax Records
A federal grand jury sitting in Charlotte indicted Andrivia Wells, also known as Tina Smith, Tina Harris, Andrivia Smith, and Andrivia Harris, 52, of Charlotte on charges of aiding and assisting in the preparation of fraudulent tax returns for her clients, filing false tax returns for herself and obstructing the criminal investigation by destroying records.
