The Lincoln County and Sally's YMCAs held their annual Thanksgiving Prayer Breakfast Wednesday morning.
"Living in a world where difference has become more acceptable than similarities... divisiveness more than togethernes... it is easy to be overcome by fear..." Dr. T. Anthony Spearman told those gathered for the annual Thanksgiving Prayer Breakfast at the James W. Warren Citizens Center.
Rev. Spearman, who serves as president of both the North Carolina NAACP and the NC Council of Churches, spoke on Romans 14:17--urging his audience to drape themselves in peace.
Raleigh Castelloe and Panico Peres, who had been awarded the George Williams Award, the Y's highest honor, last week in Charlotte, were recognized for their service to the YMCA.
This was the 19th YMCA Thanksgiving Prayer Breakfast.
