Christian Ministry's Soup Kitchen Has Special Request
Vital part of help to less fortunate needs YOU!

Lincoln Herald Staff

LINCOLNTON, N.C.––Christian Ministry of Lincoln County has a special request.

That’s the word this week from Mitzi Williams. The executive director of Christian Ministry, Williams said the group’s soup kitchen, a vital part of all it does in serving the local less fortunate, is in need of help from volunteers.

“We need cooks,” she said. “If you can work a stove and cook a meal, then we need you! Our weekday supply of volunteer cooks––Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. ––has dwindled. And we need cooks to help serve those who come in every day for a hot, cooked meal.”

Can you help out in the soup kitchen? If so, call Tracy Pyant of Christian Ministry at (704) 748-4961.

Williams also offered a note to the ministry’s weekend and holiday soup kitchen volunteers.

“Please be sure to return the soup kitchen key to Tracy the next following work week,” she said, “so others can use the key for their day to serve. Thank you!”

And relatedly, as Williams pointed out, there’s the matter of the ministry’s gas stove.

“Our gas stove is in need of repair,” she revealed, “and you know what that means: money! So our stove is down until it can be repaired. Please pray that we get a quick fix at a low cost.”

Christian Ministry is located at 230 E. Water St. in downtown Lincolnton. Call (704) 732-2691 for more information.
