STANLEY, N.C. – Springfield Memorial Baptist Church hosted the Gaston County Missionary Baptist Association (GCMBA) July 7-11 for their 65th Annual Session in Stanley.
GCMBA is comprised of 30 local churches whose objective is to protect the sanctity of the churches, to encourage ministerial growth, to promote Christian Education, Missions, Sunday School, and in general, to advance the cause of Christ in every possible way.
Stanley’s Mayor, Steve Denton, was invited to speak and welcome the conference to the Town of Stanley on Tuesday, July 9.
The main topic for the night was A Call to Discipleship along with other topics.
Others participating at the conference Tuesday night were:
- Rev. Thomas Gillespie, Pastor of Hebron Church of Jesus Christ Missionary Baptist
- Mayor Pro-Tem Lowery (Moderator)
- Rev. Monica Gardner, Associate Minister at New Canaan Baptist Church, Gastonia
- Rev. Raymond Tribble, Pastor of Boyd Friendship Church, Lake Wylie
