As we come to the close of summer, we will soon be entering back into the activities of the regular school year. This means children out at the bus stops waiting for rides. Stopped school buses picking up and dropping off children will once again fill our streets and country roads. Please be an alert driver by staying off your electronic devices while you are driving. Alert drivers remember new drivers are also making their way to school(s) in their new rides.
Looking out for one another is important to keep others safe on the road. Allow a little extra time when going somewhere. Don’t be a distracted driver with coffee or other items in your hand. These are but a couple of tips for safety sharing the roads.
Our spiritual lives are the same. Let’s be watchful for one another as we grow in the Lord. Encourage others to be more focused on their journeys with God. Let’s be cautious and recognize God is on this journey with us. We should strengthen our walk with God so we can help others who find themselves overwhelmed by life’s challenges.
Watching out for children on the side of the road only makes sense while watching out for young Christians always seems like someone else’s responsibility. Be aware of your surroundings and lift each other up. Encourage them with reminders of who they are as God’s children.
In today’s world, more than ever we need each other to manage the journey of life with help from our friends and mentors. On your journey, be the encouragement you hope to receive from others and help make your corner of the world a little safer.
