LOWESVILLE, N.C.––The Nashville-based King’s Heralds Quartet will perform a free concert Nov. 9 at 5:30 p.m.

Living Word Ministries in Lowesville is the place to be. According to the church’s concert co-ordinator, longtime gospel singer Carroll Cooke, the King’s Heralds were formed back in 1927.

Cooke added that the group, the longest-lasting of any such gospel performers, has gone through many iterations and always been a big hit on the gospel music scene. The Heralds have racked up many awards over the years.

Cooke added that they “have recorded more than 100 albums in 30 different languages. They have also sung in more than 50 different countries. This is one you might want to experience!”

The Heralds are primarily known for their a cappella stylings. The group features Don Scroggs and Mark Ringwelski, respectively as the first and second tenor, bass Jeff Pearles and baritone John Watkins.

The men have shared their music with thousands, including the Christian Booksellers Association, the National Association of Religious Broadcasters, the Protestant Health and Welfare Association, the Greater Pittsburgh Charismatic Conference and the Baptist World Alliance. The King’s Heralds have been regular guests on the “Praise the Lord” program on the Trinity Broadcasting Network and on the “It Is Written” program. They were also part of a Christmas special that aired on ABC television. In addition to maintaining an extensive touring schedule, the singers also share their musical talents with patients and their families through a hospital ministry. And they’ve witnessed to hardened inmates with a prison ministry.

Living Word is located at 1062 NC-16 South, just south of Denver.
