Christian Ministry: A Wish Of Peace During Eastertide
Still helping many folks without paychecks

LINCOLNTON––Christian Ministry is wishing you the very best this Easter season.

Its executive director, Mitzi Williams, talked about this and more, including the ministry’s continuing operations, Maundy Thursday.

“Peace to you from Christian Ministry of Lincoln County,” said Williams. “While some ministries in Lincoln County are closed, and others are on a three-day-a-week food pantry service, Christian Ministry of Lincoln County is still open seven days a week, with our soup kitchen take-out meals. And we are still giving out food boxes, Monday-Friday.”

In the month of March, she added, the ministry provided county residents and the local homeless population with more than 22,306 meals.

“Besides food,” she continued, “we are still helping those who cannot afford their medications or rent. Due to the large increase of businesses cutting back or closing until this virus is under control, many of our clients are without a paycheck.”

There are, she said, two basic needs at the ministry: 1) food; and 2) donations of money to make it all possible. Williams encourages donors to see the Website at www.christianministryoflincolncounty.org. Be sure to look for the “donate” button.

Among the few food and non-food items currently needed are crackers; canned meats with pop-tops; and laundry detergent.

And on behalf of the group, Williams expressed profound gratitude.

Thank you,” she said, “to everyone that has supported the ministry over these past several weeks: the churches, volunteers and staffers. Please, now more than ever, keep the ministry in your prayers.”

Christian Ministry of Lincoln County is located at 230 E. Water St. in downtown Lincolnton. Call (704) 732-2691 or (704) 732-0383 for more information on upcoming efforts and volunteer opportunities for individuals and church and business groups.
