We remember when we came to believe He could help us get clean from drugs or endure a period of financial stress. Many of us have testimonies of recovery from a divorce or a health crisis and we know we would not have been able to get through those times without Him. In times when sin had us in a chokehold, we were able to break free because we came to believe we could do all things through Christ who strengthens us. When we came to believe He could save our children or loved ones, our prayers for them had more power. We were able to let go and let the Lord help them.
The fact that we came to believe changed our life forever, but the truth is that for many of us it was a process. Holiness takes time. Some people go the altar one way and leave totally changed. I remember my friend Oscar who told me he went to the altar with his drug addiction and he was instantly delivered, but often it doesn’t happen that way. For many people, coming to believe is a spiritual journey that unfolds over time. Wherever you are on the journey, keep going because we need Him now more than ever before.
28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
