LINCOLNTON––Christian Ministry is saying, “Thank you.”
That’s the word Thursday from executive director Mitzi Williams. To all the donors who contributed to its recent “Souper Bowl of Caring,” the annual fundraiser for the ministry’s soup kitchen, Williams expressed gratitude.
“Thank you to everyone that took part in ‘Souper Bowl Sunday,’” she said. “We are halfway to our goal! Remember, every dollar collected is used in the soup kitchen.”
Talking of which, volunteer coverage is needed in the soup kitchen. Williams said that there’s a big slate of available dates.
“It’s a new year,” she said, “and we have a calendar to fill.”
Upcoming open dates include March 27, May 1, 22 and 29, June 12 and 26 and July 24 and 31. If you can help in the soup kitchen, Williams encourages you to contact the ministry. And if you’re volunteering on a weekend or holiday, be sure to return the kitchen’s key to Teena Sigmon the following work week so others will have the key when it’s their time to serve.
Elsewhere, the clothes closet is not taking any further donations at this time. Williams informed that volunteers are needed to sort and put away the clothes before more items may be accepted. If you can volunteer in these and other ministry capacities, e-mail Woody Saunders at firstname.lastname@example.org.
