LINCOLNTON––Christian Ministry of Lincoln County is swinging into high gear.

According to executive director Mitzi Williams, the ministry is signing up clients for Christmas right now.

“We are very busy and need your support,” Williams said Thursday.

And, she added, here’s how you can help. Nov. 24-Dec. 5, Christian Ministry needs small groups of volunteers to sort school food. Now through Dec. 22, applications are being taken for food and toys. And now until Dec. 10, the ministry is collecting toys, and it’s collecting food until Dec. 17. Plus, Dec. 4 at 11 a.m., the ministry will be distributing used toys; no sign-up is needed for this.

Got donations of toys, food or money? Drop them off at the Christian Ministry offices at 207 S. Poplar St., Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-1 p.m. However, Williams emphasized that the ministry isn’t taking donations of furniture and clothing right now.

But as always, the ministry’s need for volunteers is crucial, as Williams noted.

“We’re going to need volunteers to help sort canned goods for the week of Nov. 29,” she said. “We’re preparing for our big Christmas give-out on Dec. 23.”

Can you volunteer? Contact Woody Saunders at (704) 488-8824 or christianministry.volunteers@gmail.com.
