LOWESVILLE––The Minnesota-based Paul Family Bluegrass group will perform June 25 at 6 p.m.
The Vineyard Church of Lowesville is the place to be that Saturday evening, according to noted gospel singer and concert co-ordinator Carroll Cooke. And although the concert is free, as Cooke recently noted, a free-will offering will be taken up.
Also on the bill is vocalist Charlie Griffin of Charlotte.
The Paul Family is also known for making its own maple syrup, which is very big in Minnesota and points north. The pater familias is Jesse Paul, who plays the guitar and sings. Daughter Tracey Paul plays the double-bass. Son Austin Paul is the lead singer, and he plays the Dobro. Sons Daltin and Mitchell Paul respectively play the banjo and guitar, and daughters Priscilla and Bethany Paul respectively play the violin and the mandolin; plus, they all four sing as well.
Born in Boone, Griffin is known for singing with the Lenoir-based Meeting Time and with the Florida-based Ron Williams Singers. Griffin is also the agent for the Singing Americans of Maiden.
The Vineyard Church is located at 1062 NC-16 South in Lowesville, just down the road from Hill’s Chapel United Methodist. The Vineyard Church features Southern, bluegrass and/or acoustic gospel concerts every Saturday evening.
