Christian Ministry Falls Short Of Goal

LINCOLNTON, N.C.––Christian Ministry’s annual Christmas fundraiser didn’t quite reach its hoped-for finish line.

That’s the word Wednesday from executive director Mitzi Williams.

“We fell short of last year’s total of $120,081 by $15,493,” said Williams, citing the final total of $104,588.64.

She thanked all the donors who contributed to this year’s fundraiser, which provides funds, food and toys for local needy families and children at Christmas; helps run the ministry’s soup kitchen; and facilitates other worthy endeavors in which the ministry is involved.

The latest round of donors for the final list of the six-week campaign includes the following churches, church groups, businesses and individuals, along with a balance forward of $65,300.94:

*Glenn and Ruby Parker, $100;

*Crouse Baptist, $500;

*Calvary Baptist, $142.00;

*St. Matthew’s Young at Heart, $500;

*Moore’s Chapel Baptist, $300;

*Lincoln Women’s Golf Association, $500;

*Wayne and Vickie Houser, $25;

*Margaret Venable, $250;

*George and Susan Boyd, $50;

*Mt. Vernon Baptist , $125;

*Lt. Col, David Pyant (USAF, ret.), $200;

*Jim and Anne McCoy, $50;

*Goodson Realty, $500;

*Dean’s Appraisal, $200;

*First United Methodist Men, $300;

*Air Supply Company (in honor of its workers) $10,000;

*Michael and Paula Spann, $250;

*James and Frances Herndon, $100;

*James and Darlene Whitesides, $50;

*Sharon Baptist, $115.56;

*Joe and Janice Caskey, $100;

*Ironton Presbyterian, $90;
