LINCOLNTON––Can you drive a vehicle and deliver meals to local elderly and shut-in residents?
If so, Christian Ministry of Lincoln County needs you. That’s the word this week from Christian Ministry Executive Director Mitzi Williams. Four spots are open right now and need to be filled as soon as possible, as Williams revealed.
“If you have one hour to give to help others, please contact Mimi Rhyne,” she said, adding spots are open for drivers Monday, Wednesday and Friday––just one day a month.
Williams continued that you may call Rhyne at (704) 732-0383 or e-mail her at firstname.lastname@example.org.
In other news, the ministry’s soup kitchen needs volunteers to serve on Sunday, Sept 13. If you are interested, call Williams at Christian Ministry at (704) 732-0383.
“We are in need of pop-top can items and bar soap,” she added. “Our supplies are low!
“We are currently not accepting clothes donations at this time,” she continued, “because we need volunteers to help sort the clothes before we can re-open.”
But Williams noted that certain items are still needed, including new bra’s in all sizes, women’s underwear and stockings and men’s pants in sizes 30 through 34.
“Also,” she added, “we need household items: glasses, pots, pans and silverware, along with shampoo and conditioner.”
Christian Ministry of Lincoln County is located at 207 S. Poplar St. in downtown Lincolnton. Call (704) 732-2691 or (704) 732-0383 for more information on these and other upcoming efforts, as well as volunteer opportunities for individuals and church and business groups.
