Pumpkin Patch At BCUMC, Now Thru-Oct. 31 --- Boger City United Methodist Church annual fundraiser that benefits BCUMC missions and the Navaho Nation. Throughout October Pumpkin Patch hours will be Monday-Friday from 12 p.m. until 8 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. and Sunday 12 p.m. until 8 p.m. Pumpkins and gourds in a variety of sizes will be available for sale. Prices of pumpkins are based on size and circumference. Debra Howell Prison Ministry Memorial Festival, Saturday, October 16 --- The Lincoln County Prison Ministry of N.C. presents the Debra Howell Prison Ministry Memorial Festival on Saturday, October 16, from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. on the campus of New Vision Ministries, 661 Clark Creek Rd., Lincolnton, NC 28092. The LCPM will be selling hotdogs, drinks and candy apples. Multiple vendors will be present for the event with a variety of items including jewelry, clothing, signs, wreaths, candles, tie dye items, handmade items, woodwork, candied nuts, homemade fudge and treats, plus many more.

ECCCM Walk With Us To End Hunger, Sunday, October 17 --- You are invited to join Eastern Catawba Cooperative Christian Ministry and The Corner Table Soup Kitchen on Sunday, October 17, 2021, at 2 p.m. in downtown Newton to participate in the 2021 Eastern Catawba County Hunger Walk. The Hunger Walk is a community event designed to raise awareness and much needed funding for hunger initiatives at both organizations. The walk is approximately 3.1 miles through downtown Newton. Registration will start at 2 p.m. The walk will start at 3 p.m. followed by refreshments and presentation of trophies. Awards will be provided for the Largest Team, Top Team Fundraiser, and Top Individual Fundraiser. Individuals can participate by walking, starting a team, fundraising or donating toward the event. Participants are encouraged to register and raise money online. Offline donations and registrations are also accepted the day of the event. Lenoir-Rhyne A Cappella Choir Commemorates All Saints, Saturday, October 30 --- The Lenoir-Rhyne A Cappella Choir and Sacred Music program will present “When We on that Final Journey Go,” a musical program commemorating the annual Christian Feast of All Saints on Saturday, October 30, at 7:30 p.m. in the Grace Chapel, 8th Ave NE, Hickory, NC 28601. This event is intended to be a time of worship and remembrance, weaving together choral music, congregational hymns and readings on the themes of journeying and the procession of the community of saints. Members of the community are encouraged to submit names of loved ones who have passed away to email@example.com. Names submitted by Friday, October 22, will be included in the program. In addition, attendees will be invited to light a candle in memory of a loved one as they enter the chapel.
