Dennis Benton Ministries and well-known local gospel singer Adam Beard will present a concert featuring Michael Combs, a nationally known gospel music singer, this Saturday evening (April 9th) at the James Warren Citizens Center in Lincolnton.
It would be an understatement to say that Combs life has involved many problems. He readily admits that drug & alcohol abuse nearly destroyed his life. Combs is a double organ recipient--he got a donated liver transplant in 1991 and a kidney transplant in 2016.
Michael says he had hit rock bottom in the late 1980s when "something wonderful happened... or better yet SOMEONE wonderful happened to give me another chance at life...His name is Jesus! I gave his life to Christ on a Monday night during a revival meeting in Jacksonville, Florida, in February, 1989."
Combs has recorded many gospel songs, most of them songs he wrote. In 2018, he returned to full-time ministry after recovering from his kidney transplant. Combs says “God has blessed me in an unbelievable way.” He received the 2018 AGM Music Video of the Year award for his video of the song “Good Verses Evil.”
The Saturday concert begins at 6 PM; doors will open at 5:00. Admission is $12. For advance tickets, call Dennis Benton at 704-517-0667.
