LOWESVILLE––The Missouri-based Baker Family will perform a free concert July 23 at 6 p.m.

The Vineyard Church of Lowesville is the place to be, according to noted gospel singer and concert co-ordinator Carroll Cooke. And although the concert is free, as Cooke recently noted, a free-will offering will be taken up.

“The Baker Family is a high-energy bluegrass band, located in south-central Missouri,” he said of their home in Birch Tree, Mo. “They perform at bluegrass events throughout the United States, from Maine to California. This will be the Bakers’ fourth time with us in Lowesville, and we are excited that they are coming back!”

The Bakers are known for their many high-profile appearances, including on the 12th season of the popular television show, “America’s Got Talent.” They’ve also been seen on PBS, on “Great American Bluegrass.”

This multiple award-winning band features mom Carrie Baker, who sings and plays the guitar. She’s joined by her kids on various instruments. Son Trustin Baker, 22, sings lead and plays the banjo, violin and guitar. Daughter Carina Baker, 20, sings and plays the mandolin. And 18-year-old son Elijah Baker sings and plays the double-bass.

The Vineyard Church is located at 1062 NC-16 South in Lowesville, just down the road from Hill’s Chapel United Methodist Church. The church features Southern, bluegrass and/or acoustic gospel concerts every Saturday evening.
