Christian Ministry Thanks Summertime Helpers
The ministry was busy indeed, serving up 4,406 meals in the soup kitchen and helping 617 families and 2,182 individuals with emergency services. And 1,660 meals were delivered through the LINC Home Meals program.

The ice cream fundraiser was created by Salem Lutheran Church and is in their 12th year. It raised more than $3,000, and it all goes to support the soup kitchen at Christian Ministry.

SGCOG Gives Away Book Bags At Back-2-School Party
South Gastonia Church of God held their second Back-2-School Block Party Saturday, August 18 from 11-2. One hundred and ten book bags (more than double last year’s total) filled with school supplies were provided for community youth for the new school year.

Christian Ministry Has A Good Summer
During the month of July, 720 households that represented 1,832 individuals received food to take home; 49 households were helped with utilities; 53 individuals were helped with medicines; 198 individuals were helped with clothing; and 74 homes were helped with furniture and household items. Plus, the soup kitchen served up 3,392 meals.
