Arts Council Now Accepting Sub-Grant Apps
The Arts Council of Lincoln County is now accepting sub-grant applications through Aug. 31. Applications are available for non-profit organizations that have the purpose of promoting and developing various cultural arts programs in Lincoln County. Funding priority is given to qualified arts organizations; to educational arts programs that are conducted by qualified artists; and to other community organizations that provide arts programs in the county. Projects must occur between now and June 15, 2020. According to the N.C. Arts Council, the grassroots arts program funds may be used for expenditures to conduct arts programs or operate arts organizations. Typical uses of grassroots money includes such program expenses as professional artists’ fees and travel, space rental, advertising, marketing and publicity, Website and electronic media, scripts, costumes, sets, props, music and equipment rental and operating expenses for qualified arts organizations not already receiving operating support from the N.C. Arts Council. These can include salaries, telephone, office supplies and much more. Grant guidelines are available on the Website at www.ncarts.org. Faith Community Health Ministry Course/Retreat Registration, September 12-14; Faith Community Nursing is the specialized practice of professional nursing that focuses on the intentional care of the spirit as part of the process of promotion of wholistic health and prevention or minimization of illness within the context of a faith community. Atrium Health presents a Hybrid Course and Retreat at the Historic Oratory, The Center for Spirituality September 12-14 in Rock Hill, S.C. This is the first established oratory in the United States providing a lovely retreat space open to all denominations and seekers providing quite oasis, which include indoor and outdoor spaces for meditation, prayer and relaxation. Participants will be required to complete 7.5 hours of pre-course work submitted by September 4. Upon successful completion of the course 34 Contact Hours will be awarded. Cost for this retreat is $550 which includes instructions, three textbooks, nursing pin, meals, snacks and lodging.
