50th Wedding Anniversary

Dr. and Mrs. A. Melton (Bud) Black Sr.  celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on November 1, 2013 with a dinner in Raleigh at the Angus Barn with their children and grandchildren.

Bud and Anne met at Wingate College and have been together ever since. They were married on November 1, 1963.

Mrs. Black is the former Anne Bonds Ware of Kannapolis. She is retired from high school and community college teaching. Bud is retired from real estate appraisal and university teaching, but still coaches high school basketball.

Their children are A. Melton (Mel) Black Jr. and wife Erin of Raleigh; and Charles Wesley Black of Raleigh. Their grandchildren are Andrew Melton Black and Marion Tracy Black of Raleigh.

The Blacks live in Crouse and are enjoying retirement.
