Elmore 50th Wedding Anniversary

LINCOLNTON, N.C. - William Robert and Joan Briley Elmore celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with family and friends at the Lincoln Country Club in Lincolnton on August 22, 2015.

The Elmore’s were married August 22, 1965 at St. Peter Catholic Church in Greenville, N.C. and honeymooned at Carolina Beach. They met while they were attending East Carolina University. Bill was raised in Charleston, S.C. and Joan in Greenville, N.C.

They raised their family in Boone, N.C. - Rob (Stephanie), Chris (Adella) and Jill (Michael). They have five grandchildren.

Bill is a Psychologist and college professor and Joan is a retired special educator. They actively support young people of the world through several international children’s organizations and prison ministries.

Bill is an avid runner and cyclist, participating in bike rides across Georgia and North Carolina with his son-in-law and grandson. Joan serves on her church council, is active in her women’s prayer group and retired teachers organization, and, on occasion, enjoys ziplining with her grandchildren.
